Something broke, or a number looks wrong

One developer reads the mailbox. A report about a figure gets fixed sooner when it arrives with the numbers you typed and the number you expected.

Write to a person

Bugs and questions go to support@algas-kalkulators.suxlv2.space. Anything about data — what the app collects, what the advertising SDK receives, or a request under the GDPR — goes to contacts@algas-kalkulators.suxlv2.space, the address the privacy policy names. The same person reads both, so a letter to the wrong one is not lost.

algasKalkulators is built and supported by one person, so the honest answer about reply time is days rather than hours. Write in Latvian, Russian or English; all three are read.

What to put in a report about a wrong figure

Four lines. With them the calculation can be reproduced without another round of questions.

  1. Which calculator, and which tax year

There are nine of them, and the salary one alone holds twelve tax periods. "The tax is wrong" cannot be checked; "Salary, 2025, gross to net" can be opened and run.

  2. Everything you typed

The amount, the direction, and every box you ticked — tax book, pension, dependants, disability. The checkboxes are what usually explains a difference, and they are invisible in a result.

  3. The number you expected, and where it comes from

A payslip, a VID calculation, a VSAA decision, or another calculator. Which source it is matters more than the number: it says what the app is being compared against.

  4. The app version and the phone

The version is in the app's settings. The phone model and its Android version come from the phone's own settings, under About phone. For a crash rather than a wrong figure, these two lines are the important ones.

Three things a mismatch usually turns out to be

The non-taxable minimum

The app estimates it from the salary, and your employer applies the figure the VID actually assigned you — which depends on your whole year's income, not on one month's. If you know your figure, type it in: the salary screen accepts it, and the estimate is replaced by your number.

A box that was not ticked

Pensioner, dependants, disability, no tax book at this employer. Each of them moves a different part of the calculation, and each of them is off by default. A difference that looks like a bug is most often one unticked box.

The benefit base is not the salary

The four VSAA benefits are computed from the base on which social contributions were actually paid, over the period the law counts — not from the salary on the contract, and not from last month. A recent raise often does not appear in the benefit at all.

Requests about data

The app has no account and stores nothing you type, so there is no history of yours to export or erase — see the privacy policy for what that means in detail.

  • Advertising identifiers are held by Google, not by the developer. They are reset or limited in Android's own settings, under Privacy and then Ads, and that setting applies to every app on the phone.
  • To wipe the little the app itself keeps — the theme setting and the counters behind the rate-this-app prompt — clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall it.
  • If you want to ask about any of this in writing, contacts@algas-kalkulators.suxlv2.space is the address, and a reply comes from a person rather than a form.

A review is not a support channel

A one-line review on Google Play is read, but it cannot be answered properly and it cannot carry your numbers. If a figure looks wrong, e-mail is the way to get it looked at — and a fixed calculation helps everyone who installs the app afterwards.

Write, and it gets read
