Terms of use
Short, and in plain words. The app is free and has nothing to buy inside it. The part worth reading is the one about what a calculated figure is and is not.

1What this is
algasKalkulators is an Android application containing nine calculators for Latvian salaries, taxes, state benefits, loans and deposits. It is published on Google Play as `com.suxlv2.algaskalkulators2` and is developed by Alexander Volkov, an independent developer.
Using the app means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app — and uninstalling it is enough, because there is no account to close.
2This is not an official calculation
The app and its author do not represent, and do not speak for, any state institution, bank, insurer or other financial organisation. There is no connection with the State Revenue Service (VID) or the State Social Insurance Agency (VSAA) other than that their published rules are implemented in the app.
The information used for the calculations is taken from publicly available sources, chiefly likumi.lv, and from VID and VSAA guidance. The author is not responsible for the accuracy or the currency of those sources, and cannot guarantee that a rule has not changed since a release.
3A result is an estimate, not a decision
Every figure the app produces is for information and personal planning. It is not tax advice, not legal advice, not financial advice, and not a statement of what you are owed or what you owe.
- The binding figure is the one calculated by your employer, by the VID or by the VSAA, or the one in a bank's own offer. Where that figure and the app disagree, the app is the one that is wrong.
- Payroll and benefits have cases the app does not model, and an individual circumstance can change the answer in a way no general calculator sees.
- Loan and deposit results are arithmetic on the numbers you enter. They are not an offer, not a quotation, and not a promise that any institution will lend or pay on those terms.
- You are responsible for checking a result against the current legislation before acting on it. The app says so on its own home screen, before you calculate anything.
4Free, and paid for by advertising
The app is free to install and free to use, and there is nothing to buy inside it: no subscription, no paid tier and no purchase that removes the advertising.
It is funded by a Google AdMob banner shown at the bottom of the screen. Using the app means accepting that the banner is displayed, and that Google receives the data described in the privacy policy in order to display and measure it. Advertisements come from Google and their content is not chosen, reviewed or endorsed by the developer.
5Your data
The app has no account, and what you type into a calculator stays on the device: it is not transmitted to the developer and is not stored by the app. What the app does keep locally, and what the advertising SDK receives, is set out in full in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
6Acceptable use
The app is provided for personal, non-commercial use. Beyond that, the restrictions are the ordinary ones.
- Do not decompile, modify or redistribute the application, or publish a derivative of it, except where such an act cannot lawfully be prohibited.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the advertising, to falsify ad impressions or clicks, or to automate use of the app for that purpose.
- Do not present the app's results as an official calculation by a state institution, or as advice given by the developer.
- Do not use the app in any way that breaks the law or the terms of Google Play.
7Intellectual property
The application, its interface, its texts and its icon belong to the developer. Installing the app gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it, and nothing more.
The legal texts on which the calculations are based are public documents and belong to nobody here. Nothing in these terms restricts your access to them at their own sources.
8Availability and changes
The app is provided as it is, with no undertaking that it will remain available, that a particular calculator will be kept, or that the rules of a future tax year will be added by any particular date. It is maintained by one person.
These terms and the privacy policy may change — most likely when the app itself changes. The current version is always the one on this page, with its date at the top, and the address of the page does not change.
Distribution is through Google Play, and Google's own terms apply to the installation and to your device alongside these.
9Liability
The app is supplied without warranty of any kind, to the extent the law permits. In particular, the developer is not liable for any loss arising from a decision taken on the basis of a calculated figure — an accepted salary, a signed loan, a benefit expected and not received, or a tax obligation planned for incorrectly.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and consumer rights under Latvian and European Union law are not affected by these terms.
